Kum Nye Tibetan Healing Introductory retreat
Kum Nye is an ancient body meditation practice that is grounded in a system of healing transmitted for nearly 1200 years within the Buddhist culture of Tibet.‘Kum’ means body or embodiment, ‘Nye’ means massage or interaction. In Kum Nye we engage in a process by which subtle feeling tones are released so that they flow freely throughout the body, integrating the mental and the physical. We can release tensions or blockages, harmonising different aspects of our being.Tibetan medicine, like Indian Ayurveda, is based on the concept that health depends on a delicate balance of vital life forces. Negative thoughts, harmful actions, improper behaviours and inappropriate diet cause humoral imbalances and energy blockages, resulting in physical diseases and mental and emotional blockages. Not only is it a healing practice, but continued practice can lead to insight into the connection between our inner and outer world and lead to freedom and happiness in one’s daily life. Our habitual ways of seeing the world drop away, and we become more alive to ourselves and to one another.
We will have two days of Kum Nye practice, and some group work and discussion, followed by a day at the famous Hungarian spa baths, where we can process and enjoy the benefits of the practice. There will be a massage included in the price with Gergely Csutoros, who is the manager at the sanctuary, and also a highly qualified medical massager.
The evenings are open, and participants can either relax in the comfortable sitting room, or stroll into the village for a cup of tea in the local café.
Sinhagupta (Bronwen Rees) will be available for tarot and astrology readings which is part of the hermetic traditions represented at the EWS if wanted!
There will also be plenty of opportunity for walking in the Buda hills, which are only 2 minutes away.
This is a gentle, relaxing and restorative introduction to Kum Nye practice, ideal for those wishing to get away from the busyness of everyday life, and spend time enjoying the space at the sanctuary with others.
